Series open to all IUHPE members

Why contribute?

The original mission of RHP&EO is to provide to people from all over the world a critical analysis of resources in health promotion and health education that can be useful to their work (program management, teaching, program delivery, studies, consultation, policy making, clinical intervention, etc.) whatever the level of this work (local, regional, provincial, national, international). Recently, another role for RHP&EO has been put forward which is to hold occasional exchanges between IUHPE’s members on important topics and issues in the field. This will be done through two different mechanisms. First, a team of about 30 contributors nominated for a three years period by the Editorial Board of RHP&EO submit reviews in series reserved to them, named “closed series”; members of the Editorial Board can also submit reviews in these closed series. On the other hand, members of IUHPE can participate in RHP&EO by writing a paper in the open series or by submitting their reactions to the contributions in the closed series (click here to see the instructions for these series). The following instructions concern the contribution of the IUHPE and their contributions of the open series.

Who can contribute?

If you want to react, you must be a member in good standing of IUHPE, as RHP&EO is a contribution of the IUHPE to knowledge development and dissemination in the world. If you are not a member and wish to contribute, please join by clicking here.

How to contribute?

As a member of IUHPE, you can send a paper to the editor of the series in which you want to participate. Currently, there are two ‘open series’:

  • Ottawa 1986-Vancouver 2007: should the Ottawa charter be revisited?
  • Renewal of the leadership in Health Promotion

For these two series, the editor is Sophie Dupéré.

Your reaction should not exceed 2000 words (min. words 500), have a title and give your opinion on the topic of the serie. If you refer to resources, please provide the detailed reference, using the American Psychological Association format (APA).

The series editor will acknowledge reception of your text, verify with IUHPE headquarters if your membership is in good standing, send your reaction to two members of RHPE&O Editorial Board for analysis and interact with you if need be. After reception of the Board members comments, the series editor will interact with you, request changes or corrections if need be and send your reaction to RHP&EO for posting on the website once the changes have been made. This process should be completed in a matter of weeks, if not days.

We are looking forward to your reactions with great interest and do not hesitate to contact us if you have any question about this process !
